I want to welcome you to the website of Corpus Christi Parish, Vancouver British Columbia, Canada.

Blessed John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI have strongly encouraged the use of the internet as a vehicle, a tool for evangelization – for communicating the faith. There is no doubt that the internet is being used more and more by all ages and groups of people.  As Catholics and followers of Christ it is important that we learn the proper use of the internet.  Undoubtedly we use it for shopping, for news and for communicating with friends and family both near and far.

One area that we need to expand our use of the internet is that of faith and formation.  One of the most effective tools of the evil one is ignorance.  St. Jerome teaches us that “ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ”.  With this in mind we need to reach out “without being in your face” and offer people all over the world, the opportunity to access what Jesus Christ teaches through Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition as it is authoritatively interpreted by the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.

With this in mind I welcome you to look at our website.  It is new as of this writing (December the 6th – the Feast of St. Nicholas) so we are just getting off the ground.  My intention though is to provide links to good sites, articles that people can read – in general resources so that people can grow in their knowledge of God so that they can grow in their love of Him and their neighbor.

Please pray for the supernatural fruitfulness of this website.  While the enemy is always lurking and temptations abound, the power of Jesus Christ is infinite.  We need to do our part to take up the teaching of Christ and the holy Councils of the Church to be saints and to witness to the blessings that we have as Catholics.  Let us have deep respect for everyone but at the same time have a firm confidence that Jesus Christ is the Way, Jesus Christ is the Truth and Jesus Christ is the Life.

United in Prayer and under the protection of Our Lady and St. Joseph,

Fr. Bruce-John Hamilton
